Fr. John Fergueson preaches on the journey of Lent. He describes some of the artwork hung in the church for the season – a sackcloth banner on the wall, torn in places to reveal royal purple beneath, and a gnarled tree placed by the altar.

Angela, the artist who designed the Lenten artwork, included the tree to evoke a reading by Theodore of Studios. Theodore used the image of a tree to describe the history of salvation.

So Fr. John names the tree at Redeemer “Ted’s Tree.”
