SNOW ALERT NOTICE: SHELTER CHRISTMAS GIFTS
Greetings, Christmas Elves!
Because of inclement weather and the forecast of possibly heavy snow for this Sunday morning, Outreach is announcing that volunteer shoppers for Shelter Christmas gifts can get a head start by calling Janet Blumberg now, or any time until Christmas. (Use home phone; her email is down.) Gracy Karp will also be coordinating; Janet has the most detailed information right now.
Christmas gift tags will still be available as usual on Sunday morning, but we certainly need to get a head start. This may be the year for the folks with the all-wheel-drives to step up! So if you
are going out shopping anyway, please call Janet and pick up a requested item or two for shelter family members. Of course, you’ll be able to save your receipts and be reimbursed. (We’ll even cheerfully wrap the presents, under the circumstances, if need be.)
The Shelter is completely full this year and we have some large families. Holy Apostles is helping too, but with the snow, it is turning out to be a special challenge to put stars in the eyes of all
those children this year. Thanks so much for all you do!
Remember that we’ll need (snow-intrepid) helpers between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.on Christmas Eve to organize gifts and food baskets in the Undercroft. (And there’s also the great joy of delivering all of this to the families, after the Children’s Eucharist which begins at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.)
Merry Christmas!
