Foot-washing event
Some of you have participated in the past in the homeless foot-washing event, as a part of the Community Resource Exchange from United Way of King County. The next event has finally been scheduled, for Wednesday, April 8 at Qwest Field.
We need:
- SOCKS, SOCKS, SOCKS. We need socks to give folks after they have clean feet. Anyone interested in holding a sock drive, please do, and plan to get them to Qwest. Let me know.
- Your calendar time. Yes, that’s Holy Week. If you haven’t already, please let me know if you are interested and available to volunteer for minimum of a 3 hour shift. You’ll be washing the feet of our brothers and sisters without housing. We’ll need volunteers from 8:00 – 3:00
By all accounts, having their feet washed is one of the most desired and appreciated services offered, competing with housing vouchers, benefits enrollment, and hair cuts.
