Sharing Holy Week
As we approach the beginning of another Lent-Holy Week, it is a good time to revisit the “reason for being” of the Volunteer Activities, centered around Holy Week. Our theme is seeking life in Christ and the Holy Week liturgies strike at the heart of that theme.
My Goal, as Holy Week Coordinator, is to help everyone to feel like they have a personal piece in the actions of the Holy Week Liturgies. I am concerned that new members of the community be given the same opportunity as the rest of the community to participate. After all, this is not one group performing for another; this is a community doing Holy Week together.
The first step is to open up the Leadership of the Volunteer Activities. This way we can find out who and what everyone has an interest in. So right now, I am looking for Team Leaders. The Sign up downstairs is for the Team Leaders of all the Activities from the Saturday before Palm Sunday to the Saturday after Easter Sunday. This is the beginning of “How We Share in Holy Week”. I am looking for people who want to lead in guiding the volunteers in an activity. Maybe you have wanted to be a Team Leader, but haven’t been asked before; this is your chance. Maybe you have been a team member and now you feel like you can lead an activity. Maybe you really like an activity and want to do it again. Good!
Please look at the Activity List downstairs. It’s the one with all the colors. If you have questions about an activity, Judy Harwood and I will be around to answer your questions or feel free to email us.
You will have until February 28 to decide. Thank you!!
