United Way’s Community Resource Exchange, Century Link Field
Foot Washers Still Needed!  If you are interested in signing up for volunteering at this powerful event, please email Emily Austin at emily.austinbook@gmail.com.

What is the Community Resource Exchange?
In one place—on one day—the Community Resource Exchange connects thousands of people experiencing homelessness with the services and resources they need. Attendees enjoy a hot meal and have access to free health services, haircuts, voicemail accounts, legal assistance, public benefits, counseling, referrals to employment training and more. For more information on the CRE, go to:  unitedwayofkingcounty.org/cre.

What is the Foot Washing Station?
An area for CRE attendees to sit, take off their shoes and socks, and soak their feet in warm, clean water.  A volunteer washes and dries their feet.  They can select a pair of new socks to put on and take an extra pair with them.    Many are standing or walking much of the day and the opportunity to care for sore feet is very welcome.  During the foot washing, participants often relax, chat with the volunteers or others around them, and sometimes share their stories and challenges.

The foot washing station provides water and socks, but also a moment of respectful, quiet companionship.
