Foot washing at the 2017 Community Resource Exchange

The 2017 United Way Community Resource Exchange is March 9 at Century Link, East Hall. People from Church of the Redeemer will participate with foot washing, as usual. We would love to have volunteers come help.

The Community Resource Exchange connects people experiencing homelessness with a wide array of resources, all in one place. Organizations volunteer to provide services such as the following and more:

  • Flu shots
  • Health care screenings
  • Dental checks
  • Referrals for housing and counseling
  • Connections to job training programs
  • Library cards
  • Free haircuts
  • Hand and foot care
  • Free shoes
  • Free voice mail
  • Document scanning
  • A hot meal

We would love to have your help with foot washing and advanced foot care. Other available ways to help include water delivery and line management. This is always appreciated by the area homeless.

  • 7:30 am to 11:30 am
  • 11:30 am to 2:30 pm

If you have questions about foot washing or foot care, contact Lee Darrow.

If you cannot help with foot washing

Come help put together foot care kits for those experience homelessness. We will meet in the parish hall after the 10:30 worship service on Sunday, March 5, 2017.  Hope to see you there.

Community Resource Exchange of United Way of King County

The Community Resource Exchange shows we care. It’s a day that connects people experiencing homelessness with important resources like a dental check, new shoes, a meal and more.

The bigger hope for the day was to change the way people view homelessness: to challenge the misconceptions and to see the other side, the human side, of the story. A day where people who are homeless know others really care about them, care about their story and about helping them.
