Outreach
In addition to providing direct help to people in need through the Kenmore Family Shelter, our outreach efforts help to focus attention on human services in the Northshore area, and the funding required to make them happen.
We all use human services - even when we don’t know that we are using them. For example, elderly people often rely on human services organizations for adult day care, transportation, and hospice services. These services are woven into the fabric of our lives. They deserve our attention so that gaps and inadequacies can be corrected through the proper use of funds and community resources.
Our Outreach Committee works to educate elected officials, philanthropic organizations, and the public about available services, the people who use these services, and the great benefits that these services bring to individuals and the community at large. Parishioner Carter Hawley served on the King County Regional Task Force for Human Services to find practical ways to educate the community, raise funds, and create an effective administrative system for delivering human services to citizens more effectively.
