SUMMARY:Vestry meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Vestry of Episcopal Church of the Redeemer meets monthly on the 3rd Tuesday\, unless otherwise changed. All general meetings are open for the congregation to attend. Meetings are at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall. \n\n\n\nYou may bring any concerns or ideas you have to any member. \n\n\n\n\n\nVestry\n\n\n\nThe vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. The number of members and the term of office varies from parish to parish. The annual parish meeting usually elects the members. \n\n\n\nThe presiding officer is the rector [or priest in charge]. There are usually two wardens. The senior warden leads the parish between rectors and is a support person for the rector. The junior warden often has responsibility for church property and buildings. A treasurer and a secretary or clerk may be chosen. These officers may or may not be vestry members.  \n\n\n\nThe basic responsibilities of the vestry are to do the following: \n\n\n\n\nHelp define and articulate the mission of the congregation.\n\n\n\nSupport the church’s mission by word and deed.\n\n\n\nSelect the rector.\n\n\n\nEnsure effective organization and planning.\n\n\n\nManage resources and finances.\n\n\n\n\n[Description adapted from An Episcopal Dictionary of the Church.]
