SUMMARY:St. Barnabas the Apostle
DESCRIPTION:Lessons appointed for use for this day from the Revised Common Lectionary (Episcopal version). \n\n\n\nIsaiah 42:5-12 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nThus says God\, the Lord\,   who created the heavens and stretched them out\,   who spread out the earth and what comes from it\,who gives breath to the people upon it   and spirit to those who walk in it:I am the Lord\, I have called you in righteousness\,   I have taken you by the hand and kept you;I have given you as a covenant to the people\,   a light to the nations\,   to open the eyes that are blind\,to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon\,   from the prison those who sit in darkness.I am the Lord\, that is my name;   my glory I give to no other\,   nor my praise to idols.See\, the former things have come to pass\,   and new things I now declare;before they spring forth\,   I tell you of them.Sing to the Lord a new song\,   his praise from the end of the earth!Let the sea roar and all that fills it\,   the coastlands and their inhabitants.Let the desert and its towns lift up their voice\,   the villages that Kedar inhabits;let the inhabitants of Sela sing for joy\,   let them shout from the tops of the mountains.Let them give glory to the Lord\,   and declare his praise in the coastlands. \n\n\n\nPsalm 112 (BCP)\n\n\n\nBeatus vir \n\n\n\n1 Hallelujah! Happy are they who fear the Lord *   and have great delight in his commandments!2 Their descendants will be mighty in the land; *   the generation of the upright will be blessed.3 Wealth and riches will be in their house\, *   and their righteousness will last for ever.4 Light shines in the darkness for the upright; *   the righteous are merciful and full of compassion.5 It is good for them to be generous in lending *   and to manage their affairs with justice.6 For they will never be shaken; *   the righteous will be kept in everlasting remembrance.7 They will not be afraid of any evil rumors; *   their heart is right; they put their trust in the Lord.8 Their heart is established and will not shrink\, *   until they see their desire upon their enemies.9 They have given freely to the poor\, *   and their righteousness stands fast for ever; they will hold up their head with honor.10 The wicked will see it and be angry; they will gnash their teeth and pine away; *   the desires of the wicked will perish. \n\n\n\nActs 11:19-30\,13:1-3 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nNow those who were scattered because of the persecution that took place over Stephen travelled as far as Phoenicia\, Cyprus\, and Antioch\, and they spoke the word to no one except Jews. But among them were some men of Cyprus and Cyrene who\, on coming to Antioch\, spoke to the Hellenists also\, proclaiming the Lord Jesus. The hand of the Lord was with them\, and a great number became believers and turned to the Lord. News of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem\, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God\, he rejoiced\, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast devotion; for he was a good man\, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were brought to the Lord. Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul\, and when he had found him\, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for an entire year they associated with the church and taught a great many people\, and it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called ‘Christians’.At that time prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them named Agabus stood up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine over all the world; and this took place during the reign of Claudius. The disciples determined that according to their ability\, each would send relief to the believers living in Judea; this they did\, sending it to the elders by Barnabas and Saul. Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas\, Simeon who was called Niger\, Lucius of Cyrene\, Manaen a member of the court of Herod the ruler\, and Saul. While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting\, the Holy Spirit said\, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off. \n\n\n\nMatthew 10:7-16\n\n\n\nAs you go\, proclaim the good news\, “The kingdom of heaven has come near.” Cure the sick\, raise the dead\, cleanse the lepers\, cast out demons. You received without payment; give without payment. Take no gold\, or silver\, or copper in your belts\, no bag for your journey\, or two tunics\, or sandals\, or a staff; for labourers deserve their food. Whatever town or village you enter\, find out who in it is worthy\, and stay there until you leave. As you enter the house\, greet it. If the house is worthy\, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy\, let your peace return to you. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words\, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town. Truly I tell you\, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgement than for that town.‘See\, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. \n\n\n\nChurch of the Redeemer\n\n\n\nWelcome to Church of the Redeemer: Worshiping God\, living in community\, and reaching out to the world. SUMMARY:The Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ
DESCRIPTION:Lessons appointed for use for this day from the Revised Common Lectionary (Episcopal version). \n\n\n\nExodus 34:29-35 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nMoses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant in his hand\, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses\, the skin of his face was shining\, and they were afraid to come near him. But Moses called to them; and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him\, and Moses spoke with them. Afterward all the Israelites came near\, and he gave them in commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. When Moses had finished speaking with them\, he put a veil on his face; but whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him\, he would take the veil off\, until he came out; and when he came out\, and told the Israelites what he had been commanded\, the Israelites would see the face of Moses\, that the skin of his face was shining; and Moses would put the veil on his face again\, until he went in to speak with him. \n\n\n\nPsalm 99 or 99:5-9 (BCP)\n\n\n\nDominus regnavit \n\n\n\n[The Lord is King; let the people tremble; *    he is enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth shake. The Lord is great in Zion; *    he is high above all peoples.Let them confess his Name\, which is great and awesome; *    he is the Holy One.“O mighty King\, lover of justice\, you have established equity; *    you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.”]Proclaim the greatness of the Lord our God and fall down before his footstool; *    he is the Holy One.Moses and Aaron among his priests\, and Samuel among those who call upon his Name\, *    they called upon the Lord\, and he answered them.He spoke to them out of the pillar of cloud; *    they kept his testimonies and the decree that he gave them.O Lord our God\, you answered them indeed; *    you were a God who forgave them\, yet punished them for their evil deeds.Proclaim the greatness of the Lord our God and worship him upon his holy hill; *    for the Lord our God is the Holy One. \n\n\n\n2 Peter 1:13-21 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nI think it right\, as long as I am in this body\, to refresh your memory\, since I know that my death will come soon\, as indeed our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things. For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ\, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when that voice was conveyed to him by the Majestic Glory\, saying\, “This is my Son\, my Beloved\, with whom I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven\, while we were with him on the holy mountain. So we have the prophetic message more fully confirmed. You will do well to be attentive to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place\, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. First of all you must understand this\, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation\, because no prophecy ever came by human will\, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. \n\n\n\nLuke 9:28-36 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nJesus took with him Peter and John and James\, and went up on the mountain to pray. And while he was praying\, the appearance of his face changed\, and his clothes became dazzling white. Suddenly they saw two men\, Moses and Elijah\, talking to him. They appeared in glory and were speaking of his departure\, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. Now Peter and his companions were weighed down with sleep; but since they had stayed awake\, they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him. Just as they were leaving him\, Peter said to Jesus\, “Master\, it is good for us to be here; let us make three dwellings\, one for you\, one for Moses\, and one for Elijah” —not knowing what he said. While he was saying this\, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were terrified as they entered the cloud. Then from the cloud came a voice that said\, “This is my Son\, my Chosen; listen to him!” When the voice had spoken\, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and in those days told no one any of the things they had seen. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChurch of the Redeemer\n\n\n\nWelcome to Church of the Redeemer: Worshiping God\, living in community\, and reaching out to the world. SUMMARY:Saint Michael and All Angels
DESCRIPTION:Lessons appointed for use for this day from the Revised Common Lectionary (Episcopal version). \n\n\n\nGenesis 28:10-17 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nJacob left Beer-sheba and went toward Haran. He came to a certain place and stayed there for the night\, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place\, he put it under his head and lay down in that place. And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up on the earth\, the top of it reaching to heaven; and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And the Lord stood beside him and said\, “I am the Lord\, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring; and your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth\, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in your offspring. Know that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go\, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Then Jacob woke from his sleep and said\, “Surely the Lord is in this place—and I did not know it!” And he was afraid\, and said\, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God\, and this is the gate of heaven.” \n\n\n\nPsalm 103 or 103:19-22 (BCP)\n\n\n\nBenedic\, anima mea \n\n\n\n1 [Bless the Lord\, O my soul\, *    and all that is within me\, bless his holy Name.2 Bless the Lord\, O my soul\, *    and forget not all his benefits.3 He forgives all your sins *    and heals all your infirmities;4 He redeems your life from the grave *    and crowns you with mercy and loving-kindness;5 He satisfies you with good things\, *    and your youth is renewed like an eagle’s.6 The Lord executes righteousness *    and judgment for all who are oppressed.7 He made his ways known to Moses *    and his works to the children of Israel.8 The Lord is full of compassion and mercy\, *    slow to anger and of great kindness.9 He will not always accuse us\, *    nor will he keep his anger for ever.10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins\, *    nor rewarded us according to our wickedness.11 For as the heavens are high above the earth\, *    so is his mercy great upon those who fear him.12 As far as the east is from the west\, *    so far has he removed our sins from us.13 As a father cares for his children\, *    so does the Lord care for those who fear him.14 For he himself knows whereof we are made; *    he remembers that we are but dust.15 Our days are like the grass; *    we flourish like a flower of the field;16 When the wind goes over it\, it is gone\, *    and its place shall know it no more.17 But the merciful goodness of the Lord endures for ever on those who fear him\, *    and his righteousness on children’s children;18 On those who keep his covenant *    and remember his commandments and do them.]19 The Lord has set his throne in heaven\, *    and his kingship has dominion over all.20 Bless the Lord\, you angels of his\, you mighty ones who do his bidding\, *    and hearken to the voice of his word.21 Bless the Lord\, all you his hosts\, *    you ministers of his who do his will.22 Bless the Lord\, all you works of his\, in all places of his dominion; *    bless the Lord\, O my soul. \n\n\n\nRevelation 12:7-12 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nWar broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back\, but they were defeated\, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. The great dragon was thrown down\, that ancient serpent\, who is called the Devil and Satan\, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth\, and his angels were thrown down with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven\, proclaiming\, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Messiah\, for the accuser of our comrades has been thrown down\, who accuses them day and night before our God. But they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony\, for they did not cling to life even in the face of death. Rejoice then\, you heavens and those who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea\, for the devil has come down to you with great wrath\, because he knows that his time is short!” \n\n\n\nJohn 1:47-51 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nWhen Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him\, he said of him\, “Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!” Nathanael asked him\, “Where did you get to know me?” Jesus answered\, “I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.” Nathanael replied\, “Rabbi\, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” Jesus answered\, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.” And he said to him\, “Very truly\, I tell you\, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

SUMMARY:St. Luke the Evangelist
DESCRIPTION:Prayer\n\n\n\nAlmighty God\, who inspired your servant Luke the physician to set forth in the Gospel the love and healing power of your Son: Graciously continue in your Church this love and power to heal\, to the praise and glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord\, who lives and reigns with you\, in the unity of the Holy Spirit\, one God\, now and for ever. Amen. \n\n\n\nLessons\n\n\n\nLessons appointed for use for this day from the Revised Common Lectionary (Episcopal version). \n\n\n\nEcclesiasticus 38:1-14 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nHonour physicians for their services\,   for the Lord created them;for their gift of healing comes from the Most High\,   and they are rewarded by the king. The skill of physicians makes them distinguished\,   and in the presence of the great they are admired. The Lord created medicines out of the earth\,   and the sensible will not despise them. Was not water made sweet with a tree   in order that its power might be known? And he gave skill to human beings   that he might be glorified in his marvellous works.By them the physician heals and takes away pain;   the pharmacist makes a mixture from them.God’s works will never be finished;   and from him health spreads over all the earth. My child\, when you are ill\, do not delay\,   but pray to the Lord\, and he will heal you.Give up your faults and direct your hands rightly\,   and cleanse your heart from all sin.Offer a sweet-smelling sacrifice\, and a memorial portion of choice flour\,   and pour oil on your offering\, as much as you can afford. Then give the physician his place\, for the Lord created him;   do not let him leave you\, for you need him. There may come a time when recovery lies in the hands of physicians\,   for they too pray to the Lordthat he will grant them success in diagnosis   and in healing\, for the sake of preserving life. \n\n\n\nPsalm 147 or 147:1-7 (BCP)\n\n\n\nLaudate Dominum \n\n\n\n1 Hallelujah! How good it is to sing praises to our God! *     how pleasant it is to honor him with praise! \n\n\n\n2 The Lord rebuilds Jerusalem; *     he gathers the exiles of Israel. \n\n\n\n3 He heals the brokenhearted *     and binds up their wounds. \n\n\n\n4 He counts the number of the stars *     and calls them all by their names. \n\n\n\n5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; *     there is no limit to his wisdom. \n\n\n\n6 The Lord lifts up the lowly\, *     but casts the wicked to the ground. \n\n\n\n7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; *     make music to our God upon the harp. \n\n\n\n[8 He covers the heavens with clouds *     and prepares rain for the earth; \n\n\n\n9 He makes grass to grow upon the mountains *     and green plants to serve mankind. \n\n\n\n10 He provides food for flocks and herds *     and for the young ravens when they cry. \n\n\n\n11 He is not impressed by the might of a horse; *     he has no pleasure in the strength of a man; \n\n\n\n12 But the Lord has pleasure in those who fear him\, *     in those who await his gracious favor. \n\n\n\n13 Worship the Lord\, O Jerusalem; *     praise your God\, O Zion; \n\n\n\n14 For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; *     he has blessed your children within you. \n\n\n\n15 He has established peace on your borders; *     he satisfies you with the finest wheat. \n\n\n\n16 He sends out his command to the earth\, *     and his word runs very swiftly. \n\n\n\n17 He gives snow like wool; *     he scatters hoarfrost like ashes. \n\n\n\n18 He scatters his hail like bread crumbs; *     who can stand against his cold? \n\n\n\n19 He sends forth his word and melts them; *     he blows with his wind\, and the waters flow. \n\n\n\n20 He declares his word to Jacob\, *     his statutes and his judgments to Israel. \n\n\n\n21 He has not done so to any other nation; *     to them he has not revealed his judgments. Hallelujah!] \n\n\n\n2 Timothy 4:5-13 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nAs for you\, always be sober\, endure suffering\, do the work of an evangelist\, carry out your ministry fully. As for me\, I am already being poured out as a libation\, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight\, I have finished the race\, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness\, which the Lord\, the righteous judge\, will give to me on that day\, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing. Do your best to come to me soon\, for Demas\, in love with this present world\, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia\, Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you\, for he is useful in my ministry. I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus. When you come\, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas\, also the books\, and above all the parchments. \n\n\n\nLuke 4:14-21 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nThen Jesus\, filled with the power of the Spirit\, returned to Galilee\, and a report about him spread through all the surrounding country. He began to teach in their synagogues and was praised by everyone. When he came to Nazareth\, where he had been brought up\, he went to the synagogue on the sabbath day\, as was his custom. He stood up to read\, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written:‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me\,   because he has anointed me      bring good news to the poor.He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives   and recovery of sight to the blind\,      to let the oppressed go free\,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’And he rolled up the scroll\, gave it back to the attendant\, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he began to say to them\, ‘Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.’

SUMMARY:St. Simon and St. Jude
DESCRIPTION:Lessons appointed for use for this day from the Revised Common Lectionary (Episcopal version). \n\n\n\nDeuteronomy 32:1-4 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nGive ear\, O heavens\, and I will speak;   let the earth hear the words of my mouth.May my teaching drop like the rain\,   my speech condense like the dew;like gentle rain on grass\,   like showers on new growth. For I will proclaim the name of the Lord;   ascribe greatness to our God! \n\n\n\nThe Rock\, his work is perfect\,   and all his ways are just.A faithful God\, without deceit\,   just and upright is he; \n\n\n\nPsalm 119:89-96 (BCP)\n\n\n\nLamedh \n\n\n\nIn Æternum\, Domine \n\n\n\n89 O Lord\, your word is everlasting; *     it stands firm in the heavens. \n\n\n\n90 Your faithfulness remains from one generation to another; *     you established the earth\, and it abides. \n\n\n\n91 By your decree these continue to this day\, *     for all things are your servants. \n\n\n\n92 If my delight had not been in your law\, *     I should have perished in my affliction. \n\n\n\n93 I will never forget your commandments\, *     because by them you give me life. \n\n\n\n94 I am yours; oh\, that you would save me! *     for I study your commandments. \n\n\n\n95 Though the wicked lie in wait for me to destroy me\, *     I will apply my mind to your decrees. \n\n\n\n96 I see that all things come to an end\, *     but your commandment has no bounds. \n\n\n\nEphesians 2:13-22 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nBut now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one and has broken down the dividing wall\, that is\, the hostility between us. He has abolished the law with its commandments and ordinances\, so that he might create in himself one new humanity in place of the two\, thus making peace\, and might reconcile both groups to God in one body through the cross\, thus putting to death that hostility through it. So he came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near; for through him both of us have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens\, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God\, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets\, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling-place for God. \n\n\n\nJohn 15:17-27 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nI am giving you these commands so that you may love one another. \n\n\n\n‘If the world hates you\, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world\, the world would love you as its own. Because you do not belong to the world\, but I have chosen you out of the world—therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you\, “Servants are not greater than their master.” If they persecuted me\, they will persecute you; if they kept my word\, they will keep yours also. But they will do all these things to you on account of my name\, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them\, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did\, they would not have sin. But now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. It was to fulfil the word that is written in their law\, “They hated me without a cause.” \n\n\n\n‘When the Advocate comes\, whom I will send to you from the Father\, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father\, he will testify on my behalf. You also are to testify because you have been with me from the beginning.

SUMMARY:All Saints (observed)
DESCRIPTION:Lessons appointed for use for this day from the Revised Common Lectionary (Episcopal version). \n\n\n\nRevelation 7:9-17 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nI looked\, and there was a great multitude that no one could count\, from every nation\, from all tribes and peoples and languages\, standing before the throne and before the Lamb\, robed in white\, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice\, saying\, “Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne\, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures\, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God\, singing\, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” Then one of the elders addressed me\, saying\, “Who are these\, robed in white\, and where have they come from?” I said to him\, “Sir\, you are the one that knows.” Then he said to me\, “These are they who have come out of the great ordeal; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason they are before the throne of God\, and worship him day and night within his temple\, and the one who is seated on the throne will shelter them. They will hunger no more\, and thirst no more; the sun will not strike them\, nor any scorching heat; for the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd\, and he will guide them to springs of the water of life\, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” \n\n\n\nPsalm 34:1-10\,22 (BCP)\n\n\n\nBenedicam Dominum \n\n\n\n1 I will bless the Lord at all times; *    his praise shall ever be in my mouth.2 I will glory in the Lord; *    let the humble hear and rejoice.3 Proclaim with me the greatness of the Lord; *    let us exalt his Name together.4 I sought the Lord\, and he answered me *    and delivered me out of all my terror.5 Look upon him and be radiant\, *    and let not your faces be ashamed.6 I called in my affliction and the Lord heard me *    and saved me from all my troubles.7 The angel of the Lord encompasses those who fear him\, *    and he will deliver them.8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; *    happy are they who trust in him!9 Fear the Lord\, you that are his saints\, *    for those who fear him lack nothing.10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger\, *    but those who seek the Lord lack nothing that is good.22 The Lord ransoms the life of his servants\, *    and none will be punished who trust in him. \n\n\n\n1 John 3:1-3 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nSee what love the Father has given us\, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved\, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed\, we will be like him\, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves\, just as he is pure. \n\n\n\nMatthew 5:1-12 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nWhen Jesus saw the crowds\, he went up the mountain; and after he sat down\, his disciples came to him. Then he began to speak\, and taught them\, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit\, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn\, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek\, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness\, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful\, for they will receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart\, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers\, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake\, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad\, for your reward is great in heaven\, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Old Testament\, New Testament and Gospel readings are from the New Revised Standard Version Bible: Anglicized Edition\, copyright 1989\, 1995\, Division of Christian Education of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the United States of America.
We are a short distance north of Bothell Way\, near the Burke-Gilman Trail. The entrance looks like a gravel driveway. The campus is larger on the inside than it is on the outside. And we managed to hide a large building on the side of a hill that is not easily seen from the street. \n\n\n\nThe Episcopal Church welcomes you. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Old Testament\, New Testament and Gospel readings are from the New Revised Standard Version Bible: Anglicized Edition\, copyright 1989\, 1995\, Division of Christian Education of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the United States of America.

SUMMARY:All Saints (observed\, Year B)
DESCRIPTION:Prayers\n\n\n\nAlmighty God\, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: Give us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living\, that we may come to those ineffable joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord\, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns\, one God\, in glory everlasting. Amen. \n\n\n\nLessons\n\n\n\nLessons appointed for use for this day from the Revised Common Lectionary (Episcopal version). \n\n\n\nWisdom of Solomon 3:1-9 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nThe souls of the righteous are in the hand of God\, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died\, and their departure was thought to be a disaster\, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of others they were punished\, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little\, they will receive a great good\, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them\, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth\, and will run like sparks through stubble. They will govern nations and rule over peoples\, and the Lord will reign over them forever. Those who trust in him will understand truth\, and the faithful will abide with him in love\, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones\, and he watches over his elect. \n\n\n\nPsalm 24 (BCP)\n\n\n\nDomini est terra \n\n\n\n1 The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it\, *    the world and all who dwell therein. \n\n\n\n2 For it is he who founded it upon the seas *    and made it firm upon the rivers of the deep. \n\n\n\n3 “Who can ascend the hill of the Lord? *    and who can stand in his holy place?” \n\n\n\n4 “Those who have clean hands and a pure heart\, *    who have not pledged themselves to falsehood\, nor sworn by what is a fraud. \n\n\n\n5 They shall receive a blessing from the Lord *    and a just reward from the God of their salvation.” \n\n\n\n6 Such is the generation of those who seek him\, *    of those who seek your face\, O God of Jacob. \n\n\n\n7 Lift up your heads\, O gates; lift them high\, O everlasting doors; *    and the King of glory shall come in. \n\n\n\n8 “Who is this King of glory?” *    “The Lord\, strong and mighty\, the Lord\, mighty in battle.” \n\n\n\n9 Lift up your heads\, O gates; lift them high\, O everlasting doors; *    and the King of glory shall come in. \n\n\n\n10 “Who is he\, this King of glory?” *    “The Lord of hosts\, he is the King of glory.” \n\n\n\nRevelation 21:1-6a (NRSV)\n\n\n\nI saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away\, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city\, the new Jerusalem\, coming down out of heaven from God\, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying\, “See\, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them; they will be his peoples\, and God himself will be with them; he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more\, for the first things have passed away.” And the one who was seated on the throne said\, “See\, I am making all things new.” Also he said\, “Write this\, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Then he said to me\, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega\, the beginning and the end.” \n\n\n\nJohn 11:32-44 (NRSV)\n\n\n\nWhen Mary came where Jesus was and saw him\, she knelt at his feet and said to him\, “Lord\, if you had been here\, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping\, and the Jews who came with her also weeping\, he was greatly disturbed in spirit and deeply moved. He said\, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him\, “Lord\, come and see.” Jesus began to weep. So the Jews said\, “See how he loved him!” But some of them said\, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?” Then Jesus\, again greatly disturbed\, came to the tomb. It was a cave\, and a stone was lying against it. Jesus said\, “Take away the stone.” Martha\, the sister of the dead man\, said to him\, “Lord\, already there is a stench because he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her\, “Did I not tell you that if you believed\, you would see the glory of God?” So they took away the stone. And Jesus looked upward and said\, “Father\, I thank you for having heard me. I knew that you always hear me\, but I have said this for the sake of the crowd standing here\, so that they may believe that you sent me.” When he had said this\, he cried with a loud voice\, “Lazarus\, come out!” The dead man came out\, his hands and feet bound with strips of cloth\, and his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them\, “Unbind him\, and let him go.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Old Testament\, New Testament and Gospel readings are from the New Revised Standard Version Bible: Anglicized Edition\, copyright 1989\, 1995\, Division of Christian Education of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the United States of America.
