A Holy Waste of Time 2024

Fri, August 16 to Sun, August 18 PDT

A Holy Waste of Time for 2024

The Diocese of Olympia invites young adults in their 20s and 30s to our annual weekend of fun and friendship, A Holy Waste of Time. It is at St. Andrew’s House, a cozy lodge situated with a view of the Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains near Union, Washington.

In the spirit of time-wasting, feel free to choose your own activities:

  • Kayak, paddleboard and swim the beautiful waters of the Puget Sound.
  • Take a hike on forest trails.
  • Simply read at the lodge or sun on the deck.

We’ll also offer activities like yoga, music, and art.

Each evening we’ll gather to share and celebrate evening prayer. On Sunday our time together will culminate with a casual, collaborative Eucharist.

Creative home-style cooking is a St. Andrew’s House tradition. Meals include nurturing entrees of locally-sourced foods and delicious desserts.

Church of the Redeemer

Church of the Redeemer: Worshiping God, living in community, and reaching out to the world around us. We are an Episcopal Church serving north King County and south Snohomish County, Washington. As you travel your road, go with friends walking the way of Jesus at Redeemer.

Church of the Redeemer is at 6210 Northeast 181st Street in Kenmore, Washington. The campus is a short distance north of Bothell Way, near the Burke-Gilman Trail. The entrance looks like a gravel driveway. The campus is larger on the inside than it is on the outside. And we managed to hide a large building on the side of a hill that is not easily seen from the street.

The Episcopal Church welcomes you.
